La Vista Carmel-by-the-Sea
is a unique setting; it speaks to our sense of beauty
and promise like no place else. Along Carmel's pristine
coastline, azure waves forever tumble over the broad
white beach. The stunning water clarity makes it
possible to witness pods of dolphins surfing within
the swells.
The sea air will rejuvenate and
nourish us, as we ride along the seaside bike path,
hike along the rocky cliffs of the Point Lobos Reserve,
and kayak in the Monterey Bay. The views are sure
to inspire, as sea lions peek out from kelp forests,
sunsets stain the sky every shade of pink, and brightly-colored
sea anemones open and close like flowers in the tide-pools.
The village of Carmel-by-the-Sea
was established as a bohemian artists' and writers'
colony after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Since
then, it's been the home and inspiration to great
artists and visionaries. Today, Carmel's beauty continues
to inspire locals and visitors alike. The pristine
white-sand beach, narrow streets shaded by 100 -year
old trees, and wide variety of art galleries will
enchant you. You'll find cozy restaurants and cafes
throughout the village, with menus that impress and
dishes that delight. Carmel is also a shopper's heaven,
where you'll find everything from fine hand-crafted
treasures to high-fashion and great shoes.
