IMPRESSIONS OF ARTISTA
An article about Las
Olas Surf Safaris in Body
+ Soul Magazine led Jeanne to Artista
Creative Safaris. Jeanne
immediately recognized Artista as a perfect trip for
her, a woman who had once considered "being a struggling
artist."
"Artista was a great way to reconnect with a passion
I had forgotten," says Jeanne, who selected an Impresia
printmaking safari despite having no experience with
the medium. As a novice, she was pleasantly surprised
to learn that the technique quickly allowed her to become
proficient enough to adapt her own style.
Of course, good instruction played a part in Jeanne's
rapid progress. She appreciated that her teacher, Bill
Harsh, "was able to relate well to the students" and
could "cover a great deal of info coming from experience." His
inspiring teaching techniques were so effective that
every single woman in Jeanne's class was completely immersed
in her work.
This shared passion for creative expression "made
for a very bonding experience," according to Jeanne,
who felt at ease with everyone, though she came alone.
The friendly, relaxed atmosphere of the studio and the
support of the Artista crew left Jeanne feeling well
taken care of and "visibly and invisibly supported" throughout
her safari.
Charming Carmel-by-the-Sea also added something special
to Jeanne's trip. She says, "The location was perfect.
I loved being able to walk everywhere in such a beautiful
town. It's a lifestyle many of us no longer have."
Perhaps not, but let's hope that making art is a way
of life Jeanne will continue; she is obviously an artist,
and not a struggling one. Just look at these pieces:
