Meet Last Season's Winner

"I couldn't believe it when Penny from Athleta called to say, "I have something exciting to tell you."

Penny called to tell Christine that she had won the Athleta "Win a Las Olas Surf Safari" contest. Christine, who works at her family's Toyota business in Missouri, is also the mother of three kids, a young son and five year old twin girls. Christine surely deserved a getaway.

Having never surfed or traveled to Mexico, Christine says, "This was a whole new experience, but I was open to it." That openness paid off; she actually stood up on her first day.

Christine invited her friend Rachel to join her. Rachel’s connection with Las Olas Surf Instructor, Kristy Murphy (also from Rachel’s hometown of Jupiter, Florida!), inspired her to ride waves with confidence. Ultimately, Rachel says, "It was an empowering experience for me."
